Having spent his childhood in Myanmar, Ernie has always had a heart to return and give back to that region. That desire began in his early years when he, his parents and four siblings immigrated to the United States in 1979. His family moved to Oregon and settled in the city of Portland.
Ernie went to high school and college in Oregon, studied at Oregon State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988. He continued his education and earned a Master of Science Degree from Oregon Graduate Institute in 1990. Since college, he has been working as an Engineer and a Manager in the Semiconductor Industry. Ernie and his wife Maria have four children and reside in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Over the past few years Ernie has been traveling to Myanmar to meet with friends and associates. These regular contacts have increased a concern that there is something he can do to help the people of the country where he was born and spent his childhood. He has seen the living conditions and lack of education for the children from underprivileged families. In discussions with associates in Myanmar and his brother, Patrick, they decided the need is there and they could help. In 2015 ForgetNot International was formed to assist the underprivileged children in Myanmar, by giving them an opportunity to pursue an education they might not have otherwise.

Eduardo Ponce de Leon Secretary
Eduardo was born in Lima Peru and he was 15 years old when he came to the US with his parents and 2 brothers. He came to Northern California and attended the last two years of High School, went to a community college, attended UC Berkeley to get his bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and he later attended San Jose State for his postgraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
In 2005, he and his dad moved to Oregon after accepting a job with a high tech firm. He thought that he would be back to the Bay area after 2 years but the nice people and the outdoor activities in the Northwest made him forget about returning to California. He found that besides the many outdoors activities, Portland is a city with many attractions to offer such as a great symphony, opera, ballet, an MLS soccer team, an NBA team and many festive events throughout the year.
Eduardo is married to Alejandra from Argentina and has a 13 years old daughter. They enjoy the many outdoor activities that the Northwest offers and consider Portland their home place despite Eduardo recently started to work in the Bay area again.
Eduardo became interested in ForgetNot through his relationship with Ernie Khaw. Through his life, Eduardo has seen poor children struggle with not having life opportunities to be successful. He has a heart for helping such children and youth. In helping them improve their quality of life, Eduardo believes that in turn they would improve their communities as adults.
